Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) is looking for a Senior Business Analyst (Senior BA) to join the IT team that supports the Distribution & Content Services (DCS) division. DCS is responsible for managing the lifecycle of feature-length and episodic content produced and acquired by SPE, including intake, mastering, localization, fulfillment/distribution, archiving and restoration.

DCS IT Support, part of the Content Platform Technologies (CPT) team, supports workflows critical to DCS, including a Project Management/Purchase Ordering system to manage media content lifecycles, a BI initiative to consolidate & analyze DCS activity tracked across multiple systems, and a vault management system for tracking archival data tapes and legacy film, video & audio physical assets.

The Senior BA, reporting to the Senior Project Manager (Senior PM), will work closely with the business units & stakeholders supported by DCS IT to identify business needs & value. Senior BA will capture & define requirements, set priorities to deliver initiatives, projects, system enhancements and change management critical to DCS and SPE, with the goal of delivering value quickly & efficiently. Senior BA will work closely with application & reporting development teams to design, build, test & implement solutions.

The Senior BA will have the ability to drive projects and be hands-on in all aspects of the system development lifecycle including project planning/scoping, requirements gathering, system design and system testing. The ideal candidate must also have a proven track record of supporting multiple business units utilizing one application for various and disparate business processes.

Responsibilities include:
• Work with Senior PM and stakeholders to define & prioritize the North Star, roadmap, and MVP (Minimum Viable Product) requirements of key initiatives, delivering the most value quickly to our business customers
• Interact with stakeholders from various business units, including DCS, Finance, Procurement, and other IT teams
• Identify stakeholders, conduct requirements gathering sessions, capture detailed requirements, and share & validate findings with stakeholders and DCS IT
• Create design documents, wireframes, and mock-ups of proposed solutions for iterative review with stakeholders and development teams
• Break down requirements into actionable stories in Jira for application & reporting developers
• Attend daily scrum & status calls with application and reporting teams to review requirements, provide feedback, and communicate doubts & findings to stakeholders
• Test deliveries from development teams and confirm they meet business requirements
• Manage the UAT process by demonstrating & testing new functionality, validating test cases, obtaining business approvals on UAT, and smoke testing after deployment
• Engage DCS IT Junior BA for projects that require system & guardrail configurations
• Provide regular updates to Senior PM on status, progress, impediments and blockers on all projects and initiatives
• Create runbooks & support documents for all new development, functionality, and processes
• Create training materials & conduct training sessions for new functionality or workflow onboardings; training sessions may be in time zones appropriate for worldwide offices
• Create Release Notes and Change Management plan for each release
• Work with Senior PM and DCS IT Junior BA to create runbooks and documentation for current functionality
• Cross-train DCS IT Junior BA and testing team on new functionality; ensure that new functionality is documented in automated and manual regression testing scripts
• Cross-train on all DCS IT Junior BA support activities, cover Junior BA role when Junior BA is unavailable, including user on- & off-boardings, interface monitoring, configurations, guardrails, user support, and logging tickets
• Work with BA to identify functional enhancements and bug issues that require functional or reporting changes
• Provide VIP support for key business stakeholders
• Support DCS IT team as needed during major deployments, system outages or events requiring full DCS IT support, including off-hour support
• Support onboarding additional teams & workflows into applications managed by DCS IT
• Identify technical, application & software solutions to business needs that may not be a current part of DCS IT's portfolio
• Investigate new & unused features available in tools used by DCS IT, and new tools team can use, to deliver value to business customers faster & more efficiently
• Have the courage to ask difficult questions and provide/receive constructive feedback in spirit of continuous improvement
• Work with business to implement change management required to support initiatives & deployments
• Available to work with users and IT teams across different time zones

• Experience working with cross-functional teams using Agile methodology
• Experience supporting business units in person and remotely in time zones across the world
• Experience with Python, MS Dynamics and Visual Basic helpful
• Knowledge of Jira, ServiceNow experience helpful
• Knowledge of BI/reporting tools with Business Objects and Tableau experience helpful
• Knowledge of film/television/streaming industry and post-production workflows helpful

Education
• Bachelor's degree or related professional experience required
• Computer Science or related Information Technology degree preferred

Experience Required:
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Senior Business Analyst
• Minimum 5 years of experience in IT or related technical professions
