Overview

Sony Pictures Entertainment currently distributes transactional digital content in 100+ territories and to major retailers such as SKY, Rakuten, iTunes, Google Play, Amazon, Microsoft and many others.

As a part of the Content Mastering & Distribution Group, the Transactional VOD (TVOD) Client Services team enables this distribution through management of the Digital Supply Chain, ensuring on-time and high-quality content deliveries, as well as the strategic execution of high-profile Digital initiatives via flexible and scalable processes.

The Role

Reporting to the Manager, TVOD Client Services, the Sr. Specialist will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations and communication for the EMEA Digital supply chain – TV and Features. As the business needs evolve, the Sr. Specialist will also co-lead with its Client Services colleagues internationally to project lead initiatives across other areas, e.g. Global partners, Home Office/LA-based needs, special projects, etc. This demanding and fast-moving position requires someone who is agile, fearless in taking the lead while collaborating. This person is a confident and clear communicator, a dedicated team player, a curious, critical, and analytical thinker with positive outlook, and someone able to exercise good judgment and initiative.

Key Responsibilities
• Storefront Territory Execution
• Execution of avails, video, audio, subtitle, artwork and metadata assets in adherence to SPHE and customer specifications by working cross functionally, exercising project management skills to achieve on-time, accurate release of SPHE content, especially tentpole New Releases
• Project manage new customer onboarding and launches liaising with partners, internal servicing and account teams to understand and document requirements and timelines
• Drive communication of digital internal release schedule and pricing to partners via reporting and business-to-business integrations
• Systems/Workflows for Digital:
• As a SME of Sony's systems & workflows for the Digital business, strategize across team with IT to develop ongoing, ad hoc system/workflow solutions to ensure accurate and efficient Digital supply chain to customers and meet business/territory and storefront execution needs
• Work with team on reporting capabilities, e.g. drive improvements for supply chain KPI's and smooth distribution of Digital avails data to customers
• Territory Management:
• Leverage robust, evolving expertise of territory & regional best practices and Digital Retailer specifications to influence and guide business/territories on release strategy and pro-actively address regional release schedule challenges and nuances
• Partner with Territory Digital Account Management as part of commercial eams executing strategic directives and fiscal targets for each territory, anticipate needs Intl Digital strategy evolves quickly with Digital Acceleration project goals
• Participate in custom VOD release planning with Sales Planning as needed
• Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance workflows based on key learnings on new windows/early windows and other experimental release patterns
• Guide localization decisions based on regional expertise
• Cross-functional Team Execution:
• Work with internal/external teams to execute marketing, merchandising and promotional efforts aimed at driving transactions on key digital launches, drafting opportunities, seasonal/holiday-based campaigns, bundling/voucher initiatives, etc.
• Customer Communication and Management:
• Manage strong relationships with Retailers, demonstrating a bias to action and pro-active communication to foster a robust and collaborative partnership.
• Facilitate directly with Retailers to address day-to-day issues, execute promotions and non-standard initiatives, long-term forecasting, expansions, and new launch plans
• Serve as SME specializing in Digital platform customer specifications, cultivate a deep understanding of each Retailer's culture, capabilities, and storefront experience to maximize revenue-generating initiatives and optimize product placement.

Candidate Requirements:
• 3 years studio, media supply chain and/or Digital distribution experience preferred.
• A Working knowledge of digital supply chain (XML, video encoding, workflow management systems).
• Good understanding within the Digital/TVOD business area in order to lead specific territories.
• Critical & strategic thinking skills
• Highly organized with a keen attention to detail
• Skilled communicator across multiple teams and comfortable communicating with management, business and customer contacts
• The ability to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changes in priority and/or direction easily
• Flexible and adaptable with an appetite for implementing positive change
• Strong relationship builder with excellent customer service skills
• Self-starter who can be effective with minimal supervision.
• Proficient with MS Office applications, complex systems
• Strong data analysis, excel skills desirable
• Knowledge of Digital standards (EMA Avails, MMC, Common Metadata) (desirable)
• Fluency in EMEA regional languages advantageous, but not required
