Manager, Distribution Strategy

The Distribution Strategy & Planning team seeks to maximize the contribution of SPE's features and TV series following their initial theatrical or first-run exhibition. This involves developing timely and analytically-informed lifecycle strategies encompassing all distribution windows and media rights (Pay, SVOD, AVOD, Linear, Syndication). The team works with cross-functional leadership to structure SPE's go-to-market approach and guide licensing strategy and deals.

This includes: (1) valuing content and understanding competitive landscape (2) developing product strategies, setting windows, pricing, sales priorities, and performance goals, (3) coordinating with Senior Management across Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Operations to ensure cross-functional alignment in decision-making and execution.

Responsibility

Guide licensing strategy and deals across all lines of business:
• Develop licensing models to evaluate offers, counters, and scenarios in support of multi-year licensing agreements (e.g., features output deals)
• Lead post-mortems of existing deals in support of renewal discussions
• Analyze streaming usage data to identify insights to inform future pricing and strategy
• Develop profiles of potential buyers and new services in support of negotiations

Develop product and segment strategies:
• Research market activity (competitive landscape and partner services) in support of broader departmental understanding and strategic decision-making
• Spearhead collection and analysis of consumer data to best understand and communicate the intrinsic value of SPE content
• Engage with internal teams to extract relevant trends and qualitative insights that inform decisions

Structure go-to-market approach for both transactional and licensing opportunities:
• Design optimal windowing strategy across home entertainment and television businesses to maximize revenue opportunities and minimize cannibalization
• Establish financial goals and evaluate SPE performance to recommend tactical changes for future home entertainment releases
• Coordinate with Finance to provide greenlight estimates for theatrical releases
• Recommend markets and partners for deployment of SPE's content portfolio

Commercial Leadership planning and communication:
• Translate analysis into executive-level exhibits and summaries to support decision-making
• Develop materials to support communication of strategy and results to content owners and other key constituents
• Ensure regular presentation of findings to inform broader business decisions

Preferred Years of Experience:
• 3-4 years of Analytical or deal-oriented role (Strategy, consulting, business development). Entertainment experience helpful but not required.

Education, Years of Experience, Specialized Knowledge or Skills Required:
• Bachelor's degree required
• MBA Preferred
• Passionate about movies and television; conversant in current products and excited to watch, discuss, and research new content
• Familiarity with entertainment business models and energized to develop further expertise
• Proven experience as a critical, structured thinker and problem solver
• Advanced excel skills and strong modeling abilities
• Powerpoint Proficiency
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and pay close attention to detail, have excellent organizational skills, and commitment to deadlines
• The highest standard in influencing and interpersonal skills in order to build and develop strong stakeholder relationships
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of managementSelf-motivated and dedicated to performing above expectations.
