Senior Roto & Paint Artist

Job Description

Candidate is accountable for briefing and Qc'ing outsource vendors' work. Able to 'fix' multiple types of shots from simple to moderately difficult. Responsible for shot deadlines, participates in rounds and team reviews of work in progress. Interact with production, supervisors and team/ peers in order to problem solve and share information related to show/ assigned tasks. Must be able to decipher as well as follow through on shot turnovers, dailies, briefings/ notes and feedback. Successful candidates should be able to work efficiently as part of a team or independently to determine the various design solutions.

Requirements:
• 3+ years experience as a Roto Paint Artist in a VFX production environment

• Mastery of Nuke including paint expression and 3D environment within nuke

• Experience in generating detailed Roto to create mattes for compositing tasks and a wide range of Paint skills using hand paint and procedural techniques such as UV Projections.

• Knowledge of 3D tracking software and Silhouette

• An eye for detail and an understanding of colour and composition

• Leadership qualities, communication and problem solving skills

• Proactive and accommodating attitude

• Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise under pressures of a deadline driven production

• Lead Experience a Bonus, Vendor Experience a Must
