Executive Director, District Manager Sales
Reports to: VP, Regional Sales

The goal of a District Manager is to persistently seek out and obtain theatres to play Sony Pictures Releasing movies and to maximize the number of weeks a film plays on screen. In addition, the District Manager negotiates the highest film rental possible. This person also is responsible for a wide variety of functions in our booking system, including playdate booking, obtaining and entering holdovers and flash grosses and coordinates with Publicity to set and confirm promotional screenings.

Core Responsibilities:
• Planning and pursuing theatres for upcoming movies by studying the territory, deciding which theatre is in SPR's best interest to play, approaching and following up with theatre's film buyer to secure the playdate. During this process the district manager creates and updates playdate charts and works closely with the respective VP's to advise status and coordinate number of locations and prints
• Obtain and bill holdovers; pursue playtime and new dates. Primarily on Mondays, this person contacts film buyers to find out what is planned to stay on screen for the upcoming week. They will fight to maintain SPR's presence on as many theatre screens as possible and to get theatres that do not open on the national availability to play the film. The District Manager updates holdovers and bills new dates into our billing system as well as assisting in the collection and entering of flash grosses. They coordinate with SPR's advertising agency to convey accurate theatre information for newspaper ads.
• Negotiate film rental deals. The District Manager is aggressive in securing the best film rental possible for SPR films.
• Request, follow up, book and send confirmations on trade and promotional screenings.
• Manage 2-3 sales managers and oversee all of their accounts and sales regions. Develop their direct reports' sales skills and distribution proficiencies.

Requirements:
• BA/BS degree
• 10 years' professional experience, 5 years' film experience
• Knowledge of: Domestic theatrical film distribution and/or exhibition
• Skill In: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Access, Microsoft PowerPoint, Outlook
• Clear and concise writing
• Ability To: Develop rapport and build relationships with vendors and clients and represent SPR in a professional manner
