Director, Information Security

Job Overview
This position reports to the Exec. Director, Information Security responsible for the Security Architecture & Engineering function working in close partnership with other members of the Information Security and technology groups across all SPE entities. You will directly participate in the understanding, documenting, and maintaining the company's Enterprise Security Architecture, which is a catalogue and reference design of security controls, technology, and processes used to protect the organization from cyber threats.

You will engineer solutions which provide for the protection of information assets. This may include but it is not limited to assessment of solutions available in the marketplace, integration design, and preparing the company for operationalization of security technologies. Similarly, the employee will participate in change management efforts and will frequently be asked to perform advisory functions for both the information security department and other departments throughout the company.

You will assist in the development and maintenance of the deployment blueprints for all security technology to be implemented within the SPE environment, as well support the creation of architectural documents required to support budgetary approval processes. This will include the creation of technology architecture diagrams, information flows and processes, as well as requirements for security monitoring, PKI dependencies, and access control.

You will be required to work with the existing technology groups to understand the systems and applications, integration points and data flows. Documented security requirements, solutions architectures, design specifications, etc. will be created and maintained to ensure the security objectives of the organization are met.

Job Responsibilities:
• Requirements Gathering: The employee will work with other SPE employees to define clear requirements for engineering and architecture work, either generating them or assisting in their generation
• Solutions Engineering: The employee will work with other SPE employees to develop reasonable and innovative solutions to problems presented by both businesses and threats
• Documentation: The employee will be responsible for formal documentation and schematic work which represents the company's information security architecture.

Job Requirements:
• 1 - 3 years Information Security or equivalent Information Technology experience
• Technical skills: In-depth/hands-on familiarity with UNIX/Linux and Windows operating systems administration as well as network infrastructure, security tools and IP-based network protocols.
• Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
• Experience working for a high profile public enterprise in a security context or in direct support of a security context.
• Broad knowledge of both information technology and computer security issues, requirements, trends, and industry practices.
• Ability to take on new responsibilities.
• Ability to pick up new skills through self-learning and on the job training.
• Demonstrate strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Manage and context switch between competing priorities while maintaining organized and detailed reporting of status and progress
