Casting Coordinator- Sony Pictures Animation

Sony Pictures Animation is a pre-production animation studio based in Culver City, California, creating both feature animation and animated series with artists from around the world. We pride ourselves on empowering filmmakers to lead the creative process, and allowing the hand of the artist to be truly felt, with the goal of producing bold and innovative visual storytelling.

The Animation Casting Department supervises the casting of all the voice talent for Sony Pictures Animation's feature films.

Responsibilities
• Working with agents, executives, and filmmakers from start of compulsion of a project
• Presenting ideas, and running presentational casting meetings
• Maintaining relationships and keeping open communication with VO Agents
• Manages the processes of casting all roles of a project (lead roles to day players )
• Isolate voices and edits audio/video clips for pitches using editing software
• Update and keep track of casting, various lists, and databases
• Coordinate with production and agents to schedule recording sessions
• Aides BA in gathering and compiling legal documents for hiring actors

Qualifications
• Experience communicating directly with agents, executives, and above-the-line staff
• Has in-depth knowledge of popular culture, television, and film
• Bachelor's degree is strongly preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Has a strong sense of taste and is able to voice subjective and objective opinions
• Proficient in Mac, basic editing software, and casting software/apps
• Self-motivated, confident, and has an excellent sense of humor
• Experience in managing the casting proses projects of multiple projects
• Minimum 3 years of experience working in a casting department, 5 years in the industry
• Fan of animation is a MUST
