Assistant Financial Accountant, Curio Pictures
Curio Pictures is a Sony Pictures Entertainment company based in Sydney, creating distinct storytelling that entertains and moves global audiences.
We're looking to hire an experienced Assistant Financial Accountant to join a creatively led, inherently curious and passionate producer of Australian drama at an exciting time of transformation for the company!
In this role you will be responsible for:
• Managing all aspects of the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll functions
• Preparing customer invoices in accordance with accounts receivable (AR) procedures;
• Liaising with payroll services company to ensure timely weekly payroll processing, as well as production payroll when required
• Monthly and annual payroll tax returns. Ensuring all supplier invoices are approved and accurately entered into the accounts payable (AP) system to be paid in accordance with agreed payment terms
• Attend to vendor enquiries
• Process and maintain corporate credit cards and business expense claims
• Manage accounts payable inbox and handling all internal accounts payable enquiries
• Reconciliations and GL entries to ensure accounting information is maintained in a timely manner to a high degree of accuracy.
• Ensure documents are accurately filed
• Assist with month end reconciliations and related analysis and reporting
• Manage and complete daily bank reconciliations
• Fixed assets maintenance
• Assist the FD with Income Tax preparation; BAS & IAS returns
• In conjunction ith the FD manage corporate and production workers compensation policies
• Support the preparation of annual FBT returns
• Assit the FD in preparing Producer offset and other rebate application filing
• Assisting the FD with budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning
• Support development project reporting
• Managing and complying with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
• SAP system maintenance & liaison with Sony
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• Work closely with the Finance Director on business and tax planning
• Ad hoc projects as required
About you:
• Typically 3+ years experience working in a similar role
• Highly proficient and proven level of IT skills including Excel and SAP
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, to a high standard of English, along with excellent analytical and organisational skills and attention to detail
• Possess a well organised and efficient approach combined with the capability to follow through work on own initiative to completion
• Flexible approach as well as possessing the ability to cope well under pressure, multi-task, prioritise effectively and efficiently to ensure work is carried out accurately, in a timely manner
• Prioritise effectively and efficiently to ensure work is carried out accurately whilst adhering to deadlines
• Must be flexible and proactive with a 'can-do' attitude and a dynamic approach to work
• Ability to demonstrate initiative and a creative approach to all aspects of the role
• Strong team player with strong interpersonal, management and communication skills and the ability to forge solid working relationships
