Analyst, LATAM Research

The Research Analyst, part of the LATAM Research team, can be defined as someone who has the knowledge and skills to turn raw data into information and insights which can be used to make business decisions. Also supports ad-hoc and ongoing research projects across Sony Pictures Television (SPT) three lines of business: Distribution, Production and Networks. With an audience-obsessed attitude, the analyst will be focused on connecting the dots between programming, ad sales, marketing, and affiliate departments, through the permanent generation of timely and relevant audience insights reports. Some responsibilities include in-depth content trends analysis TV series, formats and original productions (linear and non-linear), competitor performance and investment analysis. As well as a broad range of market intelligence on the LATAM television industry, including TVE and social media, utilizing secondary resources that will include internet, multiple research data software, industry reports, etc.

Responsibilities:
• Understand, gather, and disseminate intelligence on local, and regional television business, programming trends across multiple platforms: Free TV, Cable, Pay TV, TVE, Social Media and OTT, and SPT's content in LATAM Markets.
• Analyze competitor performance (content & channels)
• Own the end-to-end creation and maintenance of regular reports related to TV series content trends, formats and local language original productions, and market intelligence across platforms (linear and non-linear).
• Develop and maintain data bases, data systems.
• Use automated tools and explore new ways to automate reporting to extract data from primary and secondary sources.
• Use of statistical tools to identify, analyze, and interpret patterns and trends that could be helpful for the diagnosis and predictions
• Help design and write reports and analysis on different business areas; preparing final presentations for the stakeholders which help to take decisions.
• Innovate in ways to share audience insights across the organization.
• Develop and maintain a direct working relationship with the existing research teams and any business areas, within the regional offices.
• Participate in relevant conferences, workshops, and research industry groups to build and maintain strong industry contacts, develop vendor relationships, and stay abreast of latest tools and methodologies.

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree is required. Degree in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Management, or Marketing with focus on Analytics, Economics or Business Administration.
• 1+ years of experience working in research/analysis.
• Fluency in Portuguese and English are required (written and spoken). Spanish is a plus.
• Strong Excel, data visualization and PowerPoint skills are must. Tableau experience is a plus.
• Data nomad, with strong skills to extract, clean and analyze audience research data. Comfortable working with large data sets.
• Experience with primary research including building questionnaires and mining meaningful insights and making recommendations.
• Experience with at least 1 of these software is required: TechEdge, Instar, Alteryx, TGI, Ampere, Monitor, Tableau, R or Python.
