Job Description
As VP, Analytics and A&R Research, you will be a senior leader on Columbia Records' Insights & Analytics/A&R Research team. This is a team rooted in innovation and process – with our own proprietary technology and replicable methods to support data discovery and music industry insights. You will lead the team's pursuit of data-driven insights and evaluations on both signed and unsigned music artists, exploration and modeling of new predictive metrics, and creation of data-driven processes to help support the creative process and inform decision making across the label.

What you'll do:
• Oversee and directly manage Columbia's Insights & Analytics/A&R Research team. Establish and lead ongoing data-driven methods to discover and provide interdepartmental insights. Coordinate efforts by all team members to accomplish team goals. Support the existing A&R Research staff in their process to discover and evaluate new artists – making sure all necessary processes are covered every single day.
• Explore, create, and deploy large scale data-driven projects to drive new value in various company verticals, including marketing attribution, media mix modeling, TikTok analytics, etc.
• Develop and test statistical and predictive models to discover insights that support artist identification, signing decisions, song/artist evaluation, and marketing & promotion strategies.
• Oversee and run daily and weekly data-driven processes, such as artist and project evaluations, consumption forecasting, etc, and communicate findings to key stakeholders across the company.
• Lead investigations into newer platforms that generate music data (e.g., web3, Discord, etc). Discover and test new predictive metrics, and oversee integration into the team's processes to evaluate new songs and artists.
• Identify, initiate, and manage relationships with key external data service and analytics solutions providers to expand the scope and value of the department's efforts.
• Fulfill ad-hoc analytics needs for label CEO, CFO, and other senior leadership.

Who you are:
• You have 7+ years experience in statistics & modelling, including ideally managerial experience, and experience putting insights into practice in a non-technical industry
• Music industry experience is strongly preferred
• You have the ability to communicate technical ideas to non-technical audiences. including using data visualization methods
• You are proficient with SQL and Excel. Skills in Python, R, front-end web development (HTML/CSS/JS) and Alteryx is a bonus but not required
• You are curious and self-motivated
• You have strong leadership abilities and love mentoring and managing a team
