Job Description

The Global Business Office (GBO) of Sony Music Entertainment's Global Finance function drives transformation initiatives and special projects across Sony Music. As a Senior Director, GBO Project Manager, you will lead strategic projects across various functions at Sony Music, including leading the strategy, analysis, design and in some cases implementation and delivery. You will take full ownership of your initiatives from strategy and design through to oversight, and at times delivery, of implementation. You will build strong partnerships across business units including executive level stakeholders, managers, process owners, and operational staff to drive process improvement delivery and results. In this role you will be expected to deliver measurable organizational improvements that achieve strategic imperatives.

What you'll do:
• Manage projects from end-to-end, starting with inception and strategic design through to overseeing, and in some cases, delivering the implementation
• Support Business Units with strategic operational design
• Develop and implement global solutions to optimize processes, standardize procedures and leverage best practices
• Challenge working practices and systems to maximize opportunities for improvement
• Identify improvement opportunities using multiple techniques such as process and data analysis and root-cause analysis
• Accountable for all deliverables within projects and the quality of work for team members supporting initiatives
• Lead team meetings, document clear actions and enable timeline achievement; remove barriers for improvement projects so results are accelerated
• Establish and report on key service performance indicators
• As part of the GBO leadership, work to identify strategic opportunities, improvement ideas and potential risks across all areas of SME
• Assist business leaders and process owners with identifying, scoping, and financially justifying operational and organizational improvement projects that align with the company's vision and strategy
• Promote and develop a continuous improvement culture across the business
• Establish strong working relationships to influence and facilitate collaboration across departments and with Senior Stakeholders within the organization
• Develop change management and communication plans in support of various projects
• Rapidly learn about the business to provide invaluable service to the Business Units
• Provide hands-on team facilitation, coaching, mentoring, and process improvement subject matter expertise to business partners

Who you are:
• Strong leader with experience managing small teams while also being an individual contributor if needed
• Expert presentation skills with executive presence and ability to present confidently and with authenticity; ability to smoothly transition between strategy and details based on the needs of a meeting
• Knowledge of process transformation practices (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma)
• Working knowledge of Music Industry (or other Media and Entertainment)
• Expert skills in MS Office Suite (e.g. Excel, Power Point, Visio, Project)
• Strong interpersonal and influence management skills
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage stakeholder groups with varying objectives
• Business and IT savvy with ability to liaise between Business Units and SME IS&T
• Experienced in organizational design and business transformation methods and techniques
• Excellent project management skills
• Based out of NY with ability to periodically travel domestically and internationally
