Job Description

This position reports to the SVP, Head of Copyright Administration and will support the day to day administrative needs of the Copyright Department (fielding phones, maintaining calendar schedule, ordering supplies, managing gratis requests, etc.), perform certain mechanical licensing activities, and assist with special projects as needed.

What you'll do:
• Field phone calls and organize meetings
• Coordinate travel plans and maintain expense reports for senior staff members
• Manage supply and gratis requests
• Maintain department calendars and assist with the tracking of various deadlines for the group
• Handle copying, filing, printing, scanning as needed
• Assist in the creation and circulation of regular reports for the Department
• Perform administrative tasks pertaining to the copyright licensing process as needed including the regular delivery of feeds and reports to publishers
• Obtain and maintain songwriter and publisher ownership splits/shares for songs
• Maintain artist and producer agreement contract redactions in various systems
• Request, review, and execute licenses as directed
• Provide supporting documentation to publishers as directed
• Process check requests and provide accounts payable with payee documentation, including tax information
• Register new SME recordings and products with the US Copyright Office, including tracking and proper archiving of completed registrations as needed.
• Maintain Royaltor Accounts, including creating new accounts, obtaining W9 forms and coordinating with accounts payable on vendor maintenance
• Assist with special projects on an as-needed basis

Who you are:
• At least 1 year general copyright administrative experience
• Excellent written/oral communication skills, including ability to communicate clearly and effectively with internal and external stakeholders in a professional manner
• Strong organizational skills, time management and attention to detail with ability to effectively multi-task
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Ability to work well under pressure and handle a variety of tasks
• General understanding of the music business
