Job Description
As a Data Scientist at Sony Music, you will explore data sets built for analysis across all areas of the company and the artists, build predictive models that improve business practices or reveal key insights, and partner with product teams to make the results of your models accessible for Sony's employees and artists. You will have the opportunity to apply your expertise through experimentation and direct business partnerships. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: building predictive elements of internal tools/digital products, building models to support business decisions, partnering across the company to establish best practices around statistical methods/data mining/modeling techniques and designing complex algorithms.

What you'll do:
• Develop and test statistical and predictive models to be incorporated in tools used throughout the company and artist community.
• Develop extensive expertise and proactively uncover trends using advanced data science methods that will lead to actionable strategies.
• Partner with Product, Analytics & Engineering teams to design, analyze and interpret the experiments that drive decision-making.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to build data-based products and help integrate into products and operational processes.
• Communicate how models and systems work to both non-technical and technical stakeholders. Process and verify the integrity of data used for analysis.
• Build strong relationships and lines of communication with analytics/data/product teams to ensure we are delivering data science products that are relevant.

Who you are:
• You are genuinely passionate about the music industry and growth of the digital music sector
• Demonstrated delivery of machine learning techniques in real-time applications.
• Proactive independent go-getter and researcher while also friendly and team-oriented
• Experience designing experiments, measuring and communicating results and driving experimentation culture.
• Passion for communication of data science methods and results in a way that can be digested by a variety of technical skill levels.
• You bring 2+ years of experience in data science with a bachelor's degree in a related field, or an advanced degree in a related field.
• You are proficient in: Data Mining, Machine Learning, Python/R, Spark, SQL, Predictive Analytics, Data Visualization, Statistics, Data Engineering, Cloud Computing.

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $100,000 to $120,000. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
