Job Description
Our People Experience (Human Resources) team is all about supporting a people strategy that drives business success. This people strategy guides how we hire, on-board, develop, motivate, and retain employees, as well as how we organize our work. The Tennessee People Experience (PX) team of Sony Music Entertainment supports Sony Music Nashville (http://sonymusicnashville.com), based in Nashville, and Provident Entertainment (https://www.providententertainment.com/), based in Franklin. We are a small and nimble team operating as part of a large and diverse company. While we locally support our Nashville-based businesses in all disciplines of Human Resources, we partner closely with the New York-based Corporate office of Sony Music Entertainment and have the support of a much larger and broader PX team that includes specialists in many disciplines including Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition, HR Systems and Learning and Development.

Reporting to the Tennessee-based Vice President, People Experience, you will contribute to these key functional areas: the overall employee experience, administrative execution, employee engagement, diversity and inclusion, social responsibility and HR accountability.

What you'll do:
• Communicate with team members, advising on employee policies and practices and answering Human Resources related questions and queries - escalating to the PX team as necessary
• Coordinate the onboarding cycle for all new joiners from offer paperwork to organizing and conducting new hire orientation and other new employee induction activities
• Coordinate the offboarding process ensuring all employees have a smooth experience exiting the organization
• Administer and coordinate HR processes, such as but not limited to, recruitment (creating and routing job requisitions), inter-company transfers, various payroll actions (promotions, supervisor changes, etc.)
• Maintain, administer and develop accurate HR records electronically and on HR systems to ensure compliance with legislation
• Update/maintain job descriptions, organizational charts and various items for the PX team
• Ensure the PX team works effectively and with a joined-up approach, by helping to streamline and improve processes and workflow
• Proactively provide innovative ideas and suggestions for process improvements
• Take part in global, regional and/or local projects and ad hoc administrative tasks and initiatives that support the PX Business Partners and PX brand
• Help oversee and administer the local Sony Music Internship program, partnering with the centralized ''Early Career'' Team in New York and the local intern supervisors.
• Build and maintain strong, effective and collaborative working relationships across the organization – especially at the more junior level – including throughout the broader PX tea,
• Help to coordinate and oversee execution of volunteer / community programs and company-sponsored events, as well as communication and reinforcement of company policies and procedures that support organizational culture and diversity and inclusion
• Gain and maintain knowledge of music industry trends and competitive landscape, as well as general business knowledge and acumen
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, local and company rules and regulations by gaining and maintaining in-depth knowledge of company policies and legal requirements
• General team administration and support such as process expense reports, note-taking, preparing presentations/reports, etc.

Who you are:
• A passionate, proactive, bright and innovative individual who has a positive outlook, a customer service mentality and demonstrates good judgment
• A minimum of 2 years of experience working in a Human Resources department or related field
• A Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Management, Communications or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
• Strong computer skills including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook) and an intimate knowledge of the internet
• Ability to prioritize, multi-task and work efficiently and effectively individually and with others
• Experience in a large, complex organization preferred
• An interest in supporting distinct teams: one that expands the message and platforms of Christian music artists/songwriters and one that supports country music artists
• Proven experience in a role that required strict confidentiality, outstanding organizational skills and ability to maintain composure and effectiveness in stressful situations
• Proven success building and maintaining constructive and collaborative working relationships with colleagues, supervisors and other employees at various levels across an organization
• Ability to travel locally (between two Tennessee locations – 15 miles)
