Coordinator, Communication and Publicity - US Latin (Temp 6 mo+)

As the Coordinator, you will report to the Senior Director, Communications for Sony Music - US Latin. The goal for this role is to support the senior team members with internal communication assignments and publicity responsibilities.

Ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter with proven record of administrative and coordinator level experience.

What you will do:
• Provide excellent administrative and coordinator level support for the communication and publicity team.
• Expand and maintain a network of music industry contacts, including;
• Journalists and editors of music magazines, newspaper music, art sections, and music websites.
• Prepare and circulate press releases, artist biographies, and promo (promotional) materials.
• Follow up on initial publicity activities by phone, email, or in face-to-face meetings.
• Partner with Project Managers to coordinate the logistics of artist activities and press schedules, including;
• Personal appearances, media interviews, showcases, album release parties, and events.
• Escort and cover artists' press events and appearances such as;
• Photoshoots, release parties, television appearances, showcases, award shows, red carpets, etc.
• Follow up with reports of media implemented after completion of promotions with artists.

Who you are:
• Bachelor's Degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or related field.
• You have a minimum of 2 years of Music Industry and publicity experience is preferred.
• Knowledgeable about music, trends, and the wider listening tastes of audiences. (Latin Music preferred)
• You have a minimum of 3 years corporate communications experience (internal communication preferred)
• Fluent in Spanish and English (read, write, speak)
• Strong writing, editing, and interpersonal skills. (able to provide writing examples in Spanish & English )
• You have a minimum of 3 years of publicity experience, writing and distributing press releases.
• Articulate, strong communicators both in written and verbal.
• You are a pro-active self-starter with positive energy.
• Thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
• Confident, persuasive, and an excellent negotiator.
• Super organized and have strong time management skills.
• Proven ability to perform multiple tasks, with both internal and external constituencies.
• Deliver on deadlines and perform well under pressure.
• Very tech-savvy and a continuous learner.
• Proficient in MS Office, PR Newswire, and Muck Rack among others.
