Job Description
As Coordinator, Business & Legal Affairs, you will play a key role in supporting the attorneys in the Business Affairs department of the Commercial Music Group with administrative and organizational tasks, as well as providing assistance to the broader CMG BA team with research and essential operational tasks relating to the maintenance and oversight of SME's extensive catalog of recordings.
What you'll do:
• Perform administrative tasks for the department (arrange and coordinate meetings, process expense reports, handle travel and time sheets, etc.)
• Historical contract research and analysis in connection with label and royaltor inquiries
• Research and process payee change requests, and request new royalty vendors and accounts when needed
• Organize and maintain physical and digital files, including database upload of important document history
• Coordinate executive approvals for contractual payments and subsequent processing with the Accounts Payable department
• Route and coordinate budget authorization requests with the Business Affairs and A&R teams
Who you are:
• 1 – 2 years relevant experience in a corporate environment
• You are an excellent communicator and enthusiastic collaborator who works well with team members and other internal and external partners
• You have a thoughtful, organized and detail-oriented mindset and are able to complete your tasks in a timely fashion
• You are thorough and have a problem-solving approach to your work
• You are comfortable with taking on multiple requests simultaneously and can prioritize those open issues accordingly
