Job Description

In this role you will handle all the operational needs of the department. Responsibilities include tracking deals from inception to execution, maintaining positive relationships with clients, procuring and distributing content for both internal and external contacts and overseeing relationship with developers creating our proprietary systems. Your goals will include improving workflow within the department, helping to optimize processes and analyzing goals.

What you'll do:
• Entering deal terms into Sony proprietary licensing system and following them to ''being drafted'' status
• Maintaining master library (often procuring music directly from artist camps, A&R or A&R administration)
• Researching side artist and sample information on newly delivered tracks and relaying information to the department
• Researching film and television projects
• Acting as liaison to internal software development teams and relaying all relevant issues, concerns and updates to the department
• Calling clients on weekly basis to follow up on license requests
• Sending company blasts to inform employees of uses
• Providing weekly ''Now Playing'' charts to marketing department
• Producing theme compilations for clients
• Sending weekly releases blast out to clients and maintaining our Spotify playlists for clients
• Planning advanced blasts of unreleased music for clients
• Tracking upcoming releases and alerting the team to changes
• Researching our rights to license tracks and artists
• Managing financial reports for the department and providing weekly updates on progress
• Handling clearance and quoting for a limited number of mass use programs
• Attending LA-based shows and hosting clients with colleagues

Who you are:
• Minimum (3-4) years in music licensing or 5+ years within a record label or 5-7 years in an operational administrative project management capacity
• Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, I-Tunes, Spotify, PowerPoint
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Basic understanding of music delivery process including insight into side artists, samples, producer decs, etc.
• Existing relationships with artist camps and/or film and television community
• Must be proactive and possess problem solving skills
• Ability to juggle multiple tasks at once
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills (writing and phone)
