Job Description

As Analyst, Music Insights & Analytics, you will have a central role in our team by providing important insights and data-driven evaluations on both signed and unsigned artists. Your work will help assist decision making within multiple departments. In this role, you would create data-driven methods to discover new artists, run daily reports to aid in artist discovery and analysis, construct statistical insights and predictive metrics, conduct research on artists, and analyze new music – both signed and unsigned. This role is a unique opportunity to help the company discover our next superstars and help drive data-assisted decision making.

What you'll do:
• Conduct research to evaluate new music and improve the organization's understanding of new music metrics
• Collect, prepare, and explore a variety of music data, and construct new methods to draw insights from this data
• Run daily reports to aid in artist discovery and analysis
• Develop and test statistical and predictive models to support artist identification, signing decisions, song/artist evaluation, and promotion strategy
• Communicate closely with analytics and A&R teams in the gathering and application of music insights
• Develop, implement, and manage analytical processes, reports, and technologies

Who you are:
• You are well-trained in at least one of the following fields: statistics, data mining, modeling, engineering, applied math, computer science, or similar field
• You have the ability to communicate technical ideas to non-technical audiences. including using data visualization methods
• You are proficient with SQL and Excel. Skills in Python, front-end web development (HTML/CSS/JS) and Alteryx is a bonus but not necessary
• You are curious and self-motivated
