Senior Online Programmer
Job Summary
Sony San Diego is seeking an Online Programmer to join the critically acclaimed ''MLB The Show'' baseball video game series. A successful programmer will develop and maintain websites and tools that support online features of the game. The scope of work includes feature design, modifying, supporting, and improving our code. We value talent, self-motivation, and team spirit. Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with partners to understand requirements and propose solutions
• Build and maintain new features
• Learn and maintain existing features
• Diagnose and fix network issues and security threats
• Supervise and optimize infrastructures
• R&D of new online technologies and new implementation techniques
Qualifications:
• 5+ years of game industry (or related) experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, related field or equivalent experience
• Substantial work experience as a Ruby on Rails developer
• Specialist in database architecture and SQL
• Knowledge of Linux or other UNIX variants. Ubuntu knowledge is helpful.
• Maintains positivity and enjoys challenges
• Anticipates, prioritizes, plans and coordinates own work
• Strong communication skills (reading, writing, presenting, and speaking)
• Ability to write efficient, clear, maintainable and portable code
• Knowledge of Flutter is helpful.
• Basic understanding of baseball is a plus.
