Senior Business Analyst, Data Governance & Literacy

Our enterprise data catalog is a foundational enabler to our mission, allowing data users to know what data exists, find it quickly, and understand its context and trustworthiness. It facilitates a community where data knowledge is freely sought and shared. As a Senior Business Analyst on the Data Governance & Literacy team, you will lead the adoption and engagement strategy for this data catalog. You will establish a strong bond with the data community, understand who the catalog users are, how they use it, and what are the challenges and opportunities. You will help grow the user base and help them use the catalog better. With the deep knowledge that you have gained about the data community, you will work with your teammates to shape the catalog in a way that can significantly reduce the time spent by data users in data discovery, thereby allowing them to get to insight generation faster.

This role requires a high level of ownership, a hands-on understanding of analytics, and the ability to manage projects. You will work with all parts of the organization and get exposed to pivotal initiatives. This is a tremendous opportunity to help design, implement, and drive the maturity of an important component of a modern data landscape.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop an end-to-end user engagement model to attract new users and retain existing users
• Drive higher engagement of the data catalog through communication and gamification. Bring vibrancy to the community in which members actively seek and share data knowledge.
• Know the SIE data community, understand their behavior from both quantitative and qualitative analyses. Identify ways to increase usage & adoption by user segments and business units.
• Develop a knowledge curation framework and drive effective content development in a way that aligns with the business model and how users think of data.
• Define and deliver KPIs for measuring engagement, usage and business value.
• Collaborate with teams across the organization, including Product Management, Engineering, Data Operations, and Data Literacy teams, to deliver improvements to both the content and features of the data catalog.

Required Background:
• Proactive, self-driven
• Minimum 5 years experience in analytics, with proficiency in SQL
• Able to analyze trends, story-tell, set goals, and make decisions with data
• Understanding of modern data landscape and web analytics tools, such as Adobe or Google Analytics
• Enjoy building relationships, with your outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Able to lead group forums and build relationships
• Bachelor's degree

Preferred Background:
• Experience with event-driven architecture
• Project management experience
