Group Manager, Marketing Business Process & Operations

San Mateo, CA

The SIE Global Marketing team is seeking candidates for the newly created role of Group Manager, Marketing Business Process & Operations. Reporting to the Sr. Director, Strategy and Business Planning, you will create, instill and sustain a business process management discipline within the SIE Global Marketing organization with the goal of streamlining, creating and/or optimizing processes to drive operational efficiency. You will lead & develop a team focused on process improvement and operations. An ideal candidate is someone who can understand the organization-wide vision (i.e. see the bigger picture) while recognizing critical details and gaps in current processes. You thrive in taking big projects and processes and breaking them into building blocks! You can take something ambiguous and provide clear and measurable recommendations.

Business Process Management:
• Spearhead business process improvement initiatives within Global Marketing organization
• Lead multiple complex, high-visibility process innovation projects that span multiple teams and functions within Global Marketing.
• Partnering with team lead, work with leaders across multiple global marketing teams, serve as in-house consultant to identify, assess and optimize areas to achieve operational efficiency demonstrating change management strategies and processes; responsibilities include:
• Interviewing key internal partners for various processes and projects
• Focus on key business processes to determine how to streamline and reduce rework, sustain quality, improve efficiency, reduce or optimize costs and improve the ability to deliver against requirements & deadlines.
• Define, structure and implement consistent approach and process improvement tools to maximize net improvement in key targeted business processes.
• Deliver transformed and efficient processes through a structured data-supported approach
• Provide hands-on team facilitation, training, and process improvement subject matter expertise where applicable.
• Challenge current working practices; identify process improvement opportunities and facilitate goal setting using customer feedback, analysis, and other systems.
• Create a system of process-based operational intelligence metrics to identify, gather, and synthesize key measures and performance.

Marketing Business Operations:
• Oversee team of business operations professions that support global marketing teams
• Serves as a liaison to Finance (accounting, accounts payable and purchasing) and Legal teams as it relates to global marketing expenditure tracking and legal operations.
• Coordinate with marketing strategy and budget planning teams ensure accurate budget tracking.
• Recommend, create and optimize global approach to purchase order, invoice and vendor management processes.
• Oversee development of marketing-specific training programs for financial and legal systems.

Additional Responsibilities:
• Responsible for growth and development of direct reports including coaching, performance management and development.
• Mentor team to track business results, and impact on monthly, quarterly and annual planning
• Attract, retain and empower top talent and staff

Related experience/education:
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Marketing or other related field; previous experience in professional services preferred (management consulting or financial services)
• Minimum 12+ years of finance, business process or marketing experience within large organizations

Requirements:
• Sound working knowledge and experience using and applying process improvement standard methodologies/techniques and process management skills in a structured project environment.
• Experience with financial planning and analysis working within or closely with marketing teams
• Expertise in product or brand marketing go to market processes and systems
• Strong interpersonal skills; demonstrate ability to work well with internal clients, colleagues and build relationships with teams across the company
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Highly organized; experience implementing structured approaches to solving complex issues
• Ability to make data driven decisions
• Ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic, changing, fast-paced environment while championing change management among some teams and areas more resistant to change!
• Comfortable dealing with ambiguity
• Ability to handle multiple, concurrent projects and tasks
• Ability to work across all groups within a matrix organization
• Prior experience leading teams and developing talent
• Proven ability to effectively facilitate a training session, one on one, or with a group
• Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, G suite, and software applications involving financial reporting, modeling and process flows
