Cloud Administrator

San Diego, CA

Sony Interactive Entertainment is searching for a highly competent candidate who has exceptional skills in supporting various B2E corporate IT services. The right candidate will: provide first class support through various means such as tickets, Slack channels, emails, and in-person walk-ups; complete various projects to operate and improve existing services and bring up new services; and possess excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities:
• Handle unscheduled tasks so that the team's Engineers can focus on their scheduled tasks:
• Respond to support requests from various sources (email, Slack channels, walk-ups) in a timely manner
• Take or reassign tickets in a timely manner
• Close tickets quickly and accurately
• Remediate security issues whenever Security alerts are received
• Troubleshoot various issues (can't login, slow or nonresponsive server, etc), which may involve opening tickets with vendors
• Handle smaller scheduled engineering tasks so that the team's Engineers can focus on larger Engineering projects:
• Take ownership of smaller IT systems
• Assist in engineering complex IT systems in a mixed on-prem/AWS environment
• Work with teammates to execute engineering experiments to search for workable solutions
• Perform upgrades and patching during maintenance windows
• Help analyze cost/performance of IT systems and do cost/performance optimizations
• Create and maintain documentation of environment, configuration, and workflow
• Help manage server resources (add memory, grant access, change permissions, make DNS changes, etc)
• Write scripts to maximize automation of IT processes and environment builds
• Central management of systems using Configuration Management tools such as Ansible or AWS Systems Manager (SSM)
• Complete assigned stories in a timely manner
• Provide accurate timelines for specific tasks assigned
• Participate in SAFe/Agile-based project work
• Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology by attending industry conferences
• Participate in on call rotation and respond to emergencies 24/7/365
• Travel as needed for projects or support (5-10%)

Qualifications:
• B.S./B.A. in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical/Computer Engineering or equivalent experience preferred
• Technical certifications preferred (AWS, Linux, Windows, etc)
• 2+ years' experience in DevOps
• 1+ years' experience working with AWS required
• Experience supporting software engineering applications such as GitHub Enterprise, Docker, Jenkins, JIRA, and Confluence
• Scripting experience (Python, bash, etc)
• Linux and Windows administration and systems engineering
• Must possess a strong ability to document standards and procedures
• Must be able to produce drawings of environments using tools such as OmniGraffle
• Ability to work independently and manage workload with minimal supervision
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies

Desired Qualifications:
• Experience with ticket systems such as ServiceNow
• Experience using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation to fully automate rapid deployments of entire environments
• Experience with Ansible, SSM, or other centralized Configuration Management systems
• SQL/DBA experience (MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc)
• Scrum / agile experience
• Basic experience with source code version control systems such as git
• In-depth knowledge of Active Directory (AD), LAN/WAN topology, IT processes and procedures, and security
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Sensu, CloudWatch, or ThousandEyes
• Experience migrating services from on-prem to AWS
• Windows PowerShell scripting
• VMware vCenter management
• NetApp management
• Understanding of protocols/technologies like HTTP, SSL, LDAP, SQL, HTML
