Your Mission
We are in search of a Lead Animator to guide our local Melbourne team in creating animation of the highest quality. We are interested in the best of the best character animators with vision - if you're crafting and inspiring sophisticated, believable, human animations in a timely manner, then we want you.
Completing your work will require you to build relationships with many production teams, such as Design, Engineering, and Environment Art, as you all collaborate to produce the best visual and narrative results for each game. The ideal candidate will have an ability to adapt to new tools and tech while also being responsible for bringing in new tech, processing and proven industry knowledge.
Player Profile
Minimum Requirements:
• 8+ years professional animation experience, with knowledge of Cinematic and Motion Capture Editing and cleanup.
• 2+ years' experience as a game animator
• Strong understanding of animation fundamentals with a focus on human movement
• Solid knowledge of camera animation, cinematic framing as well as shot continuity and facial animation
• Expert animating in the Maya environment and animation editing through the ''Graph Editor''
• Solid leadership or team management experience
• Strong technical problem-solving skills
• Ability to balance scope of production and work to resolve cross department misalignment
• Ability to provide concise feedback
• The strive to do to what is vital to achieve the polish level we require for our AAA titles
Extra Points:
• An understanding of character creation (modelling, texturing and rigging)
• Experience with mocap planning
• The team values well-rounded artists. A portfolio that shows strong character drawing, modelling and texturing skills, in addition to outstanding animation is a plus
