Job Description
Nevada Sports Net has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Sports Director. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic leader who can take NSN's journalism and brand to the next level. Strong leadership will be at the forefront of this position as the sports director will oversee all on-air talent. The ability to stay organized, develop co-workers and set expectations/keep people accountable are all key components.

The sports director will co-host NSN's flagship program, NSN Daily, an hour-long show that runs weekdays. In addition to hosting, this position is expected to identify new content opportunities. It's important to have strong writing skills and a knowledge of all sports. Live TV and storytelling skills are a must as is initiative and creativity.

As sports director, you will coordinate our daily coverage of pro, college, prep and community sports and oversee the execution of our staple programs (NSN Daily, Wolf Pack All Access, Exploring Our Backyard, etc.) as well as coverage of major summer events (American Century Championship, Barracuda Championship, Reno Rodeo, etc.).

The sports director will lead the team in strategic planning, both on a daily basis and in creating a long-term vision for NSN's future. That includes but is not limited to daily communication on what content is available for our sister stations, KRNV and KRXI and how we will best tell those stories.

Skills and Experience:
• Strong leadership skills and a team player
• Exemplary communication skills, both written and verbal
• Organization and planning will be key in this position
• A self-starter and who can generate story ideas daily
• Ability to demonstrate enterprise sports reporting and creativity in storytelling
• Managing on-air talent and freelance
• Sound sports news judgement

Requirements and Qualifications:
• Previous live on-air experience is required
• Must have at least 2 years of on-air experience
• Previous leadership role experience and working in a team environment is a must
• Journalism or communication degree preferred
• Experience in Adobe Creative Suite
