Job Description
The master control supervisor should be technically inclined with a comprehensive understanding of and the ability to operate broadcast equipment in a master control environment. This includes original taped programming, LIVE events, Press Conferences and LIVE studio shows. The Master Control Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring a quality on air presentation for all programming on Stadium and overseeing a team of three master control operators. They must possess strong communication skills with all supporting departments and have the ability to work under pressure and solve problems quickly.

Stadium is the original multi-platform sports network featuring exclusive live and on-demand games and events, extensive highlights, classic games, original programming, and daily live studio programming. Stadium includes a 24/7 linear feed distributed across both digital and broadcast platforms, as well as a comprehensive array of on-demand (VOD) digital content including additional live games and events.

Responsibilities:
• On-air operation of Grass Valley ITX Master Control System
• Editing, managing on-air logs, automation playlists, and server device management as required
• Complete LIVE on-air faxing with remote and studio sources: playlist routes
• Preview scheduled programs to ensure that signals are functioning, and programs are ready for broadcast
• Ensure Close Captioning is accurate and running 24/7
• Support operation of the station by assisting engineering, ingest, and other departments
• Report equipment problems, ensure that repairs are made, and perform emergency workarounds
• Quality Control of filing shows and commercial spots into video server - knowledge of spot delivery platforms a must
• Create master control workflow document's that help support the operators and engineers
• Oversee master control staff, including hiring operators, and setting schedules
• Communicate with other departments to ensure elements and other materials needed for master control are delivered in a timely fashion
• Other duties as required

Qualifications/Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:
• High school diploma/GED required
• Minimum of 2 years Master Control Experience, Grass Valley ITX experience preferred
• Demonstrated ability to monitor quality of outgoing signals and adjust equipment as necessary required
• Knowledge of on-air graphic elements through Grass Valley ITX, Ticker (via TV Graphics), bug and sponsor secondary events required
• Computer knowledge required
• Ability to read and understand Video and Audio metering software required
• Analytical thinking - analyzing information and using logic to address work-related issues and problems

• Ability to work a flexible schedule which will include nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays at various times
• Must be willing to work in the Chicago, IL office

Desired Qualifications:
• College Degree in related field (Communication, Broadcasting) preferred
