Seattle Refined is a one-of-a-kind lifestyle brand launched online in Seattle, Washington in 2014. The Seattle Refined brand extends across digital, social media and broadcast television platforms. Our mission is to share stores about what's new/different/cool/old or new again throughout the Pacific Northwest, including Seattle, Tacoma, Washington State, Oregon, Idaho and British Columbia. Our storytelling is fun, funny, personable and conversational, and we have a ''refined'' taste about all things in the Pacific Northwest.
The Seattle Refined Team has an incredible opportunity for a Managing Editor for SeattleRefined.com. The person in this position will create and execute a successful content strategy across all digital and social media platforms. We are seeking a multi-media expert, who lives and breathes the Pacific Northwest and is passionate about storytelling across all digital and social media platforms.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Create, manage, execute and evaluate a content strategy for all digital and social media platforms for SeattleRefined.com
• Act as the key point of contact for the television and digital sales teams, working with them to generate maximum digital revenue across all Seattle Refined digital and social media platforms
• Manage a team of freelance writers and photographers, who create additional content for SeattleRefined.com. The person in this position will also edit and schedule the freelancer content
• Manage and maintain the Seattle Refined digital budget as well as processing all payments to freelancers
• Oversee all Seattle Refined social media platforms including posts, scheduling and social media buys
• Work with Assistant Managing Editor to keep and execute a social media posting calendar across the Seattle Refined social media accounts, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube
• Managing daily editorial calendar including adding new content, repurposing previously posted stories and cultivating relevant stories to our target audiences
• Evaluate and analyze all website metrics and social media analytics to ensure content strategy is working and pivoting when it's off the mark
• Communicate with local PR firms, attend events and foster relationships with important local companies and non-profits. Stay up-to-date on all current trends and local happenings through a variety of curated local resources
• Work closely with the Seattle Refined Television Team to share story ideas and content; periodically attend shoots to gather digital and social media content
• Write stories on an as-needed/desired basis, depending upon editorial calendar, budget and schedule
• Collaborate with the KOMONews.com digital team, working with them to place and share content, personnel and logistics to cover the Pacific Northwest
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's Degree
• Proven experience in executing a successful digital content strategy
• Considerable experience in successfully managing content across multiple digital platforms
• Ability to maintain a flexible schedule, ensuring that when events occur on evenings and weekends, they are covered, maintained and posted across Seattle Refined and KOMO News platforms when applicable
• Must have strong writing, editing, research and organizational skills
• Ability to work with multitude of people and personalities while maintaining a professional work environment
• Knowledge and experience in photo and video editing programs
• Must live in or move to the Seattle, Washington area. There will also be flexibility in working from the KOMO Studios and working remotely from home
