Managing Director, Private Equity

Job Description

Keyser Capital is searching for a Managing Director that will be responsible for overseeing the existing $1.4 billion non-media private equity/real estate portfolio. The Managing Director will also develop deep industry knowledge in targeted sectors and source new control position opportunities through their broad professional network. In addition to sourcing traditional private equity investments this individual will use their network of independent sponsor relationships to originate suitable investment opportunities. This strategy will provide for maximum resource allocation and flexibility. We will aspire to be a reliable source of capital adding value to the sponsor by saving them significant time and hassle in their equity raise, enabling them to focus greater energy on sourcing investments and building businesses.

Core Responsibilities
• Working with Sinclair's CEO, the MD will
• Identify targeted industries
• Through extensive research identify key companies within the targeted industries
• Manage due diligence, structuring/negotiating and closing on control positions with identified companies
• Hold Board seats and work with the Private Equity team to monitor, manage and add value to the portfolio companies.
• Manage the Private Equity Team which will focus on developing relationships with independent Private Equity firms around the country seeking co-investors
• Manage the Asset Management/Real Estate Investing Group
• Utilize deep broad network of relationships to source high quality risk mitigated investment opportunities
• Demonstrate strong investment judgment balancing the company's risk posture with desire for financial upside
• Participate in Sinclair's Senior Leadership Team and Investment Committee; serve as mentor, champion and culture carrier promoting a positive and collaborative work environment

Qualifications
• Approximately 15-20+ years of successful private equity investing experience
• M.B.A. or graduate degree in finance preferred
• Full direct deal cycle experience, including strategy setting, sector valuation and investment thesis development, sourcing, structuring, performing due diligence, legal documentation, closing, portfolio management, and exits
• Strong sourcing network and ability to cultivate new, productive relationships
• Longstanding experience as a member of multiple Boards of Directors, with strong examples of value-added contributions to Board decision-making and fruitful collaboration with management teams
• Track record of strong realized returns
• Excellent oral and written communications skills
• Most importantly, the MD will have the highest standards of personal and professional ethics and integrity, as well as a strong work ethic and ''team player'' mentality

Keyser Capital, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sinclair Broadcast Group (SBG), was formed in 2007 to be the primary vehicle for SBG to make private equity and real estate investments. Based on the success of Keyser Capital and the other non-core investment made by SBG as well as a desire to diversify its business activities, Sinclair's Board has made a major commitment to expand Keyser's activities.
