Job Description
Marquee Sports Network is the exclusive television home of the Chicago Cubs in partnership with Sinclair Broadcast Group (Nasdaq: SBGI). As the Chicago-region's exclusive network for fans to view live Chicago Cubs games, Marquee Sports Network also features extensive pre and postgame coverage, exclusive Cubs content, live minor league broadcasts and other local sports programming. We are seeking a Motion Graphics Artist who is a creative leader that can continually raise the bar on the sports viewing experience and bring complex concepts to life across multiple platforms. This motion graphics expert will play a large role in maintaining and evolving the visual identity of Marquee Sports Network and its programs and platforms. The right person is a team player who can run point on behalf of a small team of designer experts to manage multiple projects a day including design work for live television events and programs, advertiser features, brand marketing efforts as well as digital and social platforms – while also serving as the creative lead on all motion graphics projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Lead graphics efforts, working across multiple departments with a variety of internal clients.
• Deliver motion graphics projects for live studio broadcasts and Chicago Cubs game telecasts, working closely with Production team on day-to-day storylines and graphics needs.
• Work closely with network Sales team, spearheading the development of new and enhance existing advertiser features for programming and live game telecasts, designing custom motion graphics that bring partner brands to life on Marquee programming and drive revenue.
• Develop look and feel, logos, graphics packages and promotional elements for existing and newly created programs.
• Support brand marketing efforts across platform, for both on and off-channel activation, as needed.
• Oversee graphic design team project workload to optimize work output while also delivering best product, directing projects to the available experts for the task.
• Serve as key member of the Marketing department, attending team meetings, staying abreast of organization goals and marketing objectives.
• Ensure programs and products needed for the design team are efficient up to date, identifying areas for opportunity or improvement as they arise.
• Maintain and track third party assets/image usage.

Qualifications for the role:
• Bachelor's degree in animation/graphic design, art or related field or equivalent professional experience
• Minimum 7+ years of experience as a motion graphics designer or animator at a media company, sports property, brand, or agency.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience working in sports, and broadcast/cable industry
• Must have Cinema 4D or 3D application experience
• Team leader who will protect and evolve the network's brand identity while also overseeing graphic projects and workflow for the graphic design team
• Portfolio of work that exhibits exceptional graphic design work experience across varied mediums and the technical skills to match.
• Extensive experience with Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Cinema4D a must.
• Master of typography, color, image and layout to create engaging designs.
• Strong understanding of color correction, sound design and mixing audio for video.
• Capable of meeting tight deadlines and quickly turning around high-end quality designs.
• Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail in design and preparation of final deliverables.
• Self-starter, detail oriented and resourceful.
• Excellent communicator that can clearly explain design decisions and when project managing tight timelines
• Ability to work non-traditional business hours, holidays and after hours
• Ambitious and willing to take creative risks
• Must submit portfolio of work including summary of role on each project.
• Ideal candidate is based in Chicago, but will consider remote candidates if portfolio and resume meet desired qualifications.
