The Opportunity

We are looking for some who is excited by the opportunity to fill our newly created Internal Communications Manager role to join Sinclair Broadcast Group's Innovation & Strategy Team. To help fulfill this mission, our Innovation & Strategy Team's aim is to be at the helm of driving continuous improvement and transformation innovation through our strategic areas including content, distribution, marketing services, business transformation, and employee experience. You will play a key role by creating and executing communication plans and programs for stakeholders within the firm.

This position is a hybrid role based out of Cockeysville, MD, Seattle, WA or LA, CA.

Responsibilities:
• Serve as the central communication point for the I&S Team
• Creation and execution of an internal company-wide communication plan to ensure internal teams and management stay informed and connected with information that will drive connections and innovation forward at SBG
• Develop and tailor communication plan by collaborating with internal business leaders to identify what messages are needed and where knowledge bases need to be at a higher level. Execute communications to fill these needs and gaps
• Ensure connectivity and alignment between I&S, departments, management, and other stakeholders by creating appropriate messages through emails, newsletters, meetings, videos and events
• Write and edit communications in creative ways that inform, engage, and inspire appropriate behaviors and actions that align with SBG's vision, purpose, strategy, and values
• Develop tools and templates to be used with a focus on integrating messaging across all parts of the business
• Implement process to monitor flow and quality of content, and measure engagement of content
• Work cross-functionally by engaging with all departments and key stakeholders to understand their needs and critical aspects of their projects to continuously inform I&S team on how the Innovation Process can meet company goals
• Ensure all efforts are tracked and aligned with immediate and long-term business goals

Skills and Qualifications:
• BA/BS Degree required in liberal arts, journalism, public relations, marketing, or communications
• 5+ years of proven success managing or supporting internal communications or public relations
• Exceptional critical thinking, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with audiences
• Demonstrated experience defining and managing communications strategy
• Highly collaborative and able to work with a variety of stakeholders to achieve results
• Knowledge of the workings of media/publications, content management, email marketing and web-based communications, social media and traditional media
• Ability to insightfully examine the status quo, analyze opportunities for improvement, creatively generate solutions, and demonstrate the grit to realize the change
• Strategic mindset and the ability to see and act within the bigger picture while connecting dots and finding opportunities for collaboration
• Desire for continuous learning and improvement
• Ability to manage competing priorities and carry out well-defined assignments according to established guidelines with little to no supervision
• Experience supporting project leads to manage change strategy and communication strategy to align with overall project timeline and objectives
• Technical savvy and comfort using the Microsoft Office Suite (MS PowerPoint, MS Word, MS Access, Teams, Sharepoint).
