Broadcast Graphic Designer / Producer

Job Description

CBS-Telemundo Austin is looking for a Broadcast Designer/Producer. The successful candidate will be experienced in graphic design and animation primarily using (but not limited to) Adobe Creative Cloud software and have a strong understanding of video production. This candidate will join a Creative Services Team that is responsible for producing animated, still, and video assets for use on all of the station's platforms.

Responsibilities include producing and delivering graphics/video assets for use in all aspects of television programming and advertising, all within established project timeframes and deadlines. Staying abreast of current technology is expected.

Candidate must have the ability to create original designs and to produce assets using toolkits developed by other designers making use of best practices. Must be a problem-solving self-starter with the ability to manage time and work (individually and as part of a team).  

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Works with the Director of Creative Services to clearly communicate messaging and strategy, planning and execution for all station assets for all platforms
• Produce various in-show elements such as program/segment opens and in-show news/lifestyle show still graphics,
• Updates web banners and social media graphics
• Be able to produce, shoot and edit video for both on-air and digital platforms
• Ensures deliverables are technically sound
• Augments marketing/sales presentations and sizzle tapes as needed with graphics for internal or external use
• Special projects as assigned

Required qualifications:
• 2+ years motion graphics experience – Portfolio required
• Complete mastery of After Effects, Plug-Ins, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, Word and PowerPoint
• Strong knowledge of video lighting and DLSR cameras
• Firm and thorough understanding of technical delivery requirements
• Serious organizational skills and a sense of urgency.
• Self-motivated with an ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
• Ability to multi-task and manage time efficiently and effectively
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
