Simon & Schuster seeks a talented Reporting Analyst to collect, analyze, and compile information in order for our organization to make informed business decisions. In this role, you will work with other data professionals and communicate with upper management. To succeed in this role, you also need excellent analytical and research skills and relevant industry experience managing information and data.

Responsibilities:
• Create business reports that provide insight for various departments including Operations, Transportation, Inventory, Receiving & Shipping
• Routinely evaluate reports to locate and resolve mistakes
• Accurately analyze and collect data for various types of business needs
• Communicate the results of data analysis in written and verbal form to managers and supervisors
• Monitor data to identify changes in business trends
• Running regularly scheduled reports and ad-hoc reports
• Training others on how to use and create reports
• Pulling data to develop recurring or one-time reports
• Maintaining databases, spreadsheets and other tools used in data analysis
• Locating and fixing errors in reports
• Collaborating with IT personnel to troubleshoot system issues with customized software
• Sorting, analyzing, and preparing accurate and relevant data reports
• Tracking and analyzing business KPIs to meet objectives
• Use computer software to collect, compile, and review business data

Qualifications:
• One to three years of experience as a financial or business analyst
• Experience in IBM Cognos Reporting, Microsoft Access, and Warehouse Management System
• Analytical skills that allow for the development of data-driven reports
• Demonstrated ability to manage time and prioritize projects to meet deadlines
• Ability to write & translate SQL
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel to create pivot tables and charts
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively relate data to coworkers
• Excellent critical thinking skills to help solve business problems and make decisions
• Tendency to pay close attention to small details that could impact results
• General knowledge of business operations, objectives, strategies, process and information flow

Scheduled Work Hours: Monday-Friday 9am-6pm
