Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing seeks a Manager for Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers, Atheneum Books for Young Readers and Beach Lane Books. The Publicity Manager will execute publicity campaigns for children's and young adult book releases, and will manage the regional trade show pitching and coordination for the department.

Responsibilities include:
• Plans and executes publicity campaigns that maximize exposure for authors/illustrators and their books. This includes:
• writing creative and effective pitch materials;
• securing national and regional TV, radio, print, online, trade, and podcast media;
• creating successful author events and multi-city tours;
• presenting campaign plans and highlights in internal sales meetings
• Develops and maintains close working relationships with members of the press and seeks out new media outlets.
• Handles select department responsibilities, including managing the regional trade show pitching and coordination for the department.

Specific responsibilities include:
• 3+ years of experience in children's book publicity
• Experience with securing media interview/review placement, and conducting multi-city national tours;
• Effective communication skills (oral & written) for interactions with media, authors, agents, booksellers, and internal departments;
• Excellent organization and communication skills, strategic thinking, and superb attention to detail
• Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
• Ability to work well independently as well as in collaborative team environments
