Simon and Schuster is looking for an Editorial Assistant for Simon Element. Reporting to one Senior Editor and one Editor, the Assistant will join a highly collaborative, supportive, and inclusive team publishing authoritative, conversation-changing nonfiction books in the categories of behavioral science, relationships, business, lifestyle, personal development, health, wellness, and memoir.

The responsibilities include reviewing manuscripts and book proposals; general administrative duties; communicating with authors and agents by phone and email; drafting online copy and flap copy; conducting sales research on competitive and comparative titles; organizing schedules and meetings; and expense tracking. No previous publishing experience is required. Our ideal candidate is a highly curious consumer of nonfiction books, media, and podcasts, and a creative problem-solver with strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. An attention to detail and deadlines are necessary.
