Responsibilities include:

All administrative duties- scheduling meetings, routing materials both in-house and to authors, handling mailings to authors and agents, liaising with all departments.
On the editorial side the position includes:
• Reading and evaluating manuscripts insightfully and analytically, writing and editing catalog, bound galley, tip sheet and flap copy, and coordinating the editorial and production process.
• Management of manuscripts in all stages of production includes: preparing manuscripts for copyediting and production
• Keeping track of submissions and books in the production and editorial process
• Tracking paperwork internally and externally
• Liaising with authors/agents and other departments through the publication process (checking over 1P/2P/blues, inputting author changes); professionally interacting with authors, production, marketing, and sales staff to relay messages and follow-up on requests/information
• Organizing and scheduling meetings and conference calls; note-taking at sales meetings as necessary; fulfilling requests for Sales, generating P&Ls, CRFs, estimate requests, check requests, sub rights letters, and other paperwork as needed.

This role will report into the VP Publisher

Previous experience in children's book publishing is highly preferred.
