The Production Supervisor will be responsible for 50+ titles per year (1/c, 2/c, and 4/c titles) and will be an imprint specialist for S&S Canada. Supervisor duties include creating schedules and tracking the routing from manuscript to finished books; bidding out titles and providing cost estimates (preliminary estimates and firm P&Ls); calculating paper requirements and reserving paper; reviewing and color correcting interior proofs; discussing jackets/covers with art department (and printer) to ensure design and effects are feasible and cost effective; coordinating with printers/binderies regarding specs and schedule of first printings; issuing POs; checking finished books for quality and possible defects (and working with printer, warehouse, and managing ed/publisher's office to resolve the issue if defects are found); working with various departments across S&S; and attending production meetings. As an imprint specialist, this person will establish and maintain best production practices for the imprint, working closely with the publishing office.

3-5 years of trade book publishing is preferred.
