The role of the Communications and Marketing Manager is to increase the reach and impact of the Shondaland brand and its streaming, broadcast and digital content through the ideation and delivery of strategic and impactful communications and marketing plans, both nationally and on a global scale.

The Communications and Marketing Manager works collaboratively with our external partners and internal stakeholders, including the Vice President and Senior Director of Communications and Marketing, in developing and executing one-of-a-kind campaigns across various mediums to generate awareness and conversion of Shondaland content. While marketing is part of this position, the primary focus will be on the various publicity strategies associated with all Shondaland broadcast and streaming series as well as Shondaland Audio and Shondaland.com content.

The Dailies - Your Impact
• Develop, implement, and manage effective publicity strategies to promote Shondaland content (broadcast and streaming content, podcast, digital, etc.) and work with the VP and Senior Director of Communications and Marketing on brand, product, and overall PR and marketing initiatives.
• Develop and maintain strong relations with key industry media contacts and manage an effective PR strategy to promote the company's objectives and celebrate its accomplishments.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop publicity and marketing assets, including research and information gathering, writing and editing copy, etc. that align with the approved messaging and positioning of our respective projects.
• Research industry best practices and identify opportunities to enhance company marketing materials and promotion strategies.
• Work with the Senior Director of Communications and Marketing to generate specifications for marketing campaigns based on creative briefs provided by our partners' respective teams.
• Ensure Shondaland and its content are positioned correctly and in a manner that aligns with the company's overall goals and external messaging.
• Work closely with Social Media Managers on broadcast, streaming and digital content social media strategies.
• Work with partner marketing teams to help finalize promos, unit photography selects, key art, etc.
• Manage and assist in developing the annual communications budget and ensuring its use is fully maximized.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Your Essentials/Qualifications:
• Proven experience in campaigns for film or television. Communications and marketing experience with podcasts or lifestyle websites is a plus.
• Demonstrated skills and knowledge in leveraging all marketing channels to create communications that drive awareness, engagement and ultimately, impact.
• Ability to take complex information and translate it into simple but compelling communications and experiences; equally comfortable communicating about business trends with marketing principles.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, with expertise communicating effectively across audiences, and must be comfortable managing PR and media relations.
• Proven ability to deliver communications that connect with target audiences
• Ability to collaborate with internal departments and marketing teams to assess and identify communications needs.
• Proven reputation as a highly valued communications consultant to key leaders within an organization.
• Superior editorial and interpersonal skills with a range of communications and project management experience.
• Able to perform with poise under tight deadlines and shifting priorities, as well as successfully navigate a complex organization to build productive relationships and drive projects and initiatives to a successful conclusion in a timely manner.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented with outstanding follow-through skills.
• 'Can-do' attitude and collaborative, and able to work independently to accomplish goals and objectives.
• Strong planning, budgeting and analytical skills.
• Awards experience is a plus.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism or a related field, preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A minimum of 3-5 years' experience in communications in an entertainment company or agency supporting entertainment clients.
• Proven return on investment as related to communication strategy development and implementation.
• A minimum of 1-2 years' management experience or experience leading a team.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Suite of products (i.e., Word, Excel, PPT, etc.).
