Job Description
Sesame Workshop is looking for a Technical Project Manager to work with our Digital Media Engineering (DME) team within our Technology & Engineering department. The primary role and responsibilities of the Technical Project Manager (TPM) is to foster a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and teamwork to meet the technical expectations of Sesame Workshop's digital media projects. The ideal candidate must have at least 5 years of experience and be comfortable working alongside the digital media engineering team, producers, and business stakeholders.
Please note: This position is a full-time, staff position (35 hours/week) located at our office in NYC with a hybrid schedule.
Responsibilities
• Project manage all phases of the digital media portfolio (Web, Apps, OTT etc.) development lifecycle including requirements, design, coding, implementation, UAT and maintenance
• Develop comprehensive project plans that merge stakeholder requirements with company goals and coordinate various managers and technical personnel during all project phases, from initial development through implementation.
• Coordinate with the engineering team to plan for epics and stories in sprint planning
• Work across departments with project managers/producers, and collaborate with DevOps engineers, QA, and Front-End developers to ensure timely deliveries and within budget
• Work with DME team and producers to manage source code, versioning, release cycle for existing and new product
• Administer all product management tools that are part of the development life cycle (Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket, Bamboo, etc.)
• Work with producers, stakeholders, and DME team members to gather and build requirements for new digital product RFPs
• Manage external vendor relationships for building and maintenance of digital products, contract maintenance, resource management and other vendor services
• Manage other related project management tasks that are required for the successful delivery of project goals
Technical Project Management Requirements
• Knowledge of current web, app, multiplatform standards, and development processes (i.e., front and back-end web design, systems architecture, digital content development and management, cloud computing etc.)
• Knowledge of Agile development Scrum process
• Knowledge of Google 360 and GA4 Analytics Platform
• Knowledge of CMS platforms (Drupal, WordPress, Moodle etc.)
• Understanding of API integrations of CMS, OVP, and email marketing services
• Knowledge of digital asset management systems and best practices for metadata and production management needs
• Knowledge of workflow integration for content programming, management, distribution, updates, tagging for multiple platforms etc.
• Knowledge of other integrated technical services for content flow from production to distribution
• Ability to stay organized while involved in multiple projects
• Deadline-oriented project management skills and capabilities
• Strong communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
• Ability to manage people, project deliverables, and expectations across a matrix organization

Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• 5+ years' experience in technical project management – with an emphasis on digital media
• Knowledge of digital media product from ideation to deployment
• Technical background on digital media landscape, platforms, workflow
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and project management tools
• Knowledge of scrum process is a plus
• Previous work experience in an engineering position is also a plus
