Job Description
The Joan Ganz Cooney Center seeks a Senior Manager, Partnerships & Planning to support the Center's current R&D initiatives by creating and sustaining connections with a range of industry stakeholders including entrepreneurs, product developers, accelerators, and investors and foundations. The candidate should have experience in the education / EdTech space and familiarity with the current state of research and policy in technology and media, particularly as it pertains to children. The candidate should also have demonstrated experience of building relationships with a variety of partners, organizing activities and events, and developing/managing systems to track these efforts.

The Senior Manager, Partnerships and Planning will report to the Senior Director of Research and work to integrate the science of human development and learning, inclusive design, and child-centered practices into the development of new products and services.

Responsibilities:
• Connect with and develop relationships with startup ventures and product teams developing new innovations for children, including learning products
• Build community among individuals and organizations in the kids' tech and learning space across fields/disciplines, including virtual and in-person opportunities to meet, share, and learn
• Support execution and implementation of project activities and programming to engage researchers, educators, communities, and entrepreneurs, such as creating assets and agendas for sessions, revising and structuring activity protocols and facilitator materials, documenting work, and curating resources
• Organize and lead the day-to-day operations to support that work, including managing contacts and activities within a CRM system
• Work with funders to execute on grants and to provide insights and recommendations for funders on potential investment strategies

Qualifications:
• Master's degree in education, psychology, instructional design, or related field preferred
• Experience in the design and development of educational products and programs
• Understanding of the education landscape and related systemic inequities
• Ability to build credibility, launch and manage partnerships with technology product developers
• Experience implementing projects with a combination of researchers, educators, product teams, and organizations that serve kids
• Experience with project management across internal and external stakeholders; comfort with complex organizational structures
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage competing tasks, deadlines, requirements, and decisions
• Comfort working in a hybrid (in-person and virtual) team environment and knowledge of best practices for collaboration and knowledge management
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; experience speaking and writing with a variety of external stakeholders and organizational leaders
• A passion for education and equity, a team mentality, and a desire to learn and grow
• Ability to engage with teams to ensure a diversity, equity, and inclusion lens is applied throughout plans and activities
