Freelance Senior Project Manager, Marketing Operations
Sesame Workshop is looking for a Freelance Senior Project Manager. The Senior Project Manager (PM) executes internal client requests ensuring on-target, on-time, on-budget and on-brand delivery of marketing materials. The Senior PM must exhibit outstanding project management and client communication skills to achieve the highest possible standards in client service. He/she needs basic knowledge of clients' business challenges to provide communications solutions and project management execution. The Senior PM will also be expected to participate in creative development meetings to ensure final output is on mark. In addition, the Senior PM will provide project management follow-through and accurate delivery.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain solid client relationships
• Encourage and support a collaborative approach with departmental team members
• Educate clients on cost savings and leveraging opportunities aligned with their marketing efforts
• Partner with outside agencies in managing clients' promotional and marketing efforts for print, motion and digital channels.
• Ensure all relevant information, such as creative briefs, marketing plans, etc., have been provided to the creative team.
• Recommend the effective reuse of past materials when appropriate to minimize client costs
• Collaborate on creative development and direction with client, design and production teams
• Provide feedback to project team during internal creative reviews
• Deliver creative material to clients, obtain and ensure feedback is clear for the creative team
• Review client change requests and respond with schedule/cost impacts along with alternatives
• Manage expectations with clients and departmental teams
• Negotiate timelines and budgets and ensure that all deadlines are maintained
• Represent the interests of the client in interactions with project teams
• Ensure all regulatory, legal and compliance and branding guidelines are followed to the letter on their assigned businesses
• Provide final sign-off on projects to ensure compliance with creative brief and project specifications
• Leverage knowledge and understanding of graphic design, creative and production to facilitate effective communication between client and departmental teams
• Lead and provide weekly status updates meetings for internal stakeholders
Skills and Knowledge
• Ad agency/ in house project management experience preferably including print, direct marketing campaigns, online, promotions, TV and radio
• Strong understanding of the benefits of the above communication channels with the ability to match the channel with the client's communication need
• Ability to influence, manage and drive action in on-time and accurate execution of deliverables
• Team player with excellent relationship-building skills
• Operates effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Adept at crisis management
• Resourceful and solution-oriented
• Excellent written, verbal, communication and presentation skills
• Excellent creative project management skills, highly organized and able to multitask effectively
• Ability to gain client trust and effectively manage client expectations
• Strong understanding of Media and Entertainment marketing and non-profit philanthropic initiatives/ grants/ sponsorships
• Strong understanding of the creative process as well as design and print/web production
• Successful track record at client service in a marketing or creative environment
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree, preferably in marketing, communications, advertising or business, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of professional-level experience as a project manager either in an external or internal agency
• Foreign language skills a plus
