Overview:

Spurs Sports & Entertainment (SS&E) is looking for a dynamic communications professional to join our family! Are you passionate about and have a talent for drafting content? If so, we want to hear from you! The person in this role will become part of a high-performing team, that closely collaborates with our internal departments and business partners on day-to-day communication efforts that contribute to promoting and protecting our brand. Our ideal candidate will use a relationship-based approach to develop communication strategies and deliverables that align with our corporate objectives and values, and positively position SS&E to key audiences.

Responsibilities:
• Develop, manage and own corporate communications for AT&T Center and Spurs Give (501c3 nonprofit) to help purposefully tell SS&E's story. This includes pitching and partnering with media for events, concerts, community announcements, etc..
• Build and execute engagement strategy for strategic influencers and non-traditional media.
• Create process to mine/source business stories across SS&E that we want to proactively tell and assist with the external pitches for those stories. Draft, edit and own review process for press releases.
• Celebrate communication, collaboration and team by supporting day-to-day operations of corporate communication efforts, which includes participating in cross-departmental meetings, fielding media inquiries and developing and maintaining key internal relationships.
• Contribute to team discussions and brainstorms to thoughtfully and creatively pitch and place SS&E stories using a range of traditional and new media across local, regional, national and global audiences.

Qualifications:
• 2-5 years' experience in communications
• Robust written and verbal communication skills to help shape a purposeful narrative for SS&E
• Proficient in AP Style writing
• Experience collaborating with business partners and stakeholders within a complex organization
• Desire to communicate, collaborate and assist, approaching every day with a team-first mentality
• Demonstrate poise, tact and diplomacy, while growing in pressure-packed situations
• Proactive, self-motivated and eager to learn with a strong work-ethic
• Attention to detail with solid organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as needed
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Power Point and other computer skills
