Senior Software Engineer (Machine Learning) - AI Accelerator

Tech Research performs applied research to build AI enabled applications for our game teams and to establish AI as a core capability at Riot.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and optimizing the distributed deep learning computing infrastructure required to train AI agents at scale. You will also lead the proof-of-concept implementation of the agent for various applications that will be used by players and by game teams.

Responsibilities:
• Develop and optimize deep learning infrastructure and algorithms used for training AI agents on complex games
• Lead the proof-of-concept implementation of AI features for players and game teams (e.g. metagame analysis, player coaching, play vs AI)
• Develop and optimize a distributed training infrastructure including algorithms, hyperparameters, CPU, memory, networking, or other resource contention
• Integrate game servers into research & training infrastructure
• Prototype ideas for visualizing AI behavior or for new applications

Required Qualifications:
• MS in Computer Science or equivalent with 3+ years software engineering experience or BS in Computer Science or equivalent with 5+ years software engineering experience
2+ years experience in deep learning
Distributed computing systems design
Python
PyTorch or TensorFlow
GCP or AWS

Desired Qualifications:
• Game development / game engine (Unreal) experience
• Game theory fundamentals
• Databases
• Databricks

(Los Angeles only) Base salary range between $170,000 USD - $238,000 USD + incentive compensation + equity + 401K with company match + medical, dental, vision, and life insurance + short and long-term disability + open PTO.
