Riot's Publishing Communications team shapes Publishing's global identity and reputation with players, Rioters, and more. Our team drives internal and external narratives by creating communication plans, drumbeat activities, and special moments that celebrate Publishing's aspiration to ignite enduring, widespread fandom. We collaborate closely with our business units including Global Marketing, Commercial Partnerships, Operations & Strategy, and Regional Publishing to tell emotionally resonant stories that connect us with players around the world.
As a Senior Public Relations Manager, reporting to the Global Communications Lead of Riot's Publishing organization, you will lead all communications about and supporting Riot's Global Marketing organization. You will work closely with the CMO to develop a narrative and strategy, with the goal of building a strong reputation for Global Marketing at Riot and attracting world-class talent to the team. You will work closely with the Global Marketing leadership team to find strategic storytelling opportunities and through this work, you will build a strong relationship with relevant marketing and B2B industry media. You will provide PR support for Global Marketing-owned efforts, including activations and awards, in partnership with related teams. Regardless of which comms hat you're wearing, you'll consistently bring significant creativity to this role and identify opportunities that fall outside the traditional ''tried and true.''
Responsibilities:
• Develop a strategic approach to communications to support the Global Marketing team; work closely with the CMO and other Leadership Team members to drive a positive reputation for the team both internally and externally
• Work with and influence these executives by providing communications guidance that helps them effectively reach intended audiences, both internally at Riot and externally, with media and industry peers
• Drive the development of external communications activities and deliverables, including strategic executive storytelling media opportunities, including earned media and events
• Identify and mine for compelling and novel stories around the organization and across the industry and translate that into internal and external content while simultaneously coordinating with communications practitioners across Riot
• Develop high-quality written materials, including long and short-form content, executive presentations, strategic plans, etc.
Required Qualifications:
• 8+ years of total experience in corporate communications or corporate professional services
• Experience working closely with senior-level executives and building communications programs for them; particularly within the marketing industry
• Established relationships with relevant industry media, especially advertising and marketing press
• Proven ability to pitch and secure media coverage and speaking engagements
• Experience developing high-quality written material
Desired Qualifications:
• Prior work experience in marketing or branding comms, or at a B2B PR agency
• Bachelor's Degree in strategic communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, or a related field
