Security Engineer - Deception Tech

Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Security Engineer focused on building tooling for our deception technology program. This role reports to a Senior Manager on the Information Security team and will be responsible for helping implement our deception technology strategy. The goal of this engineer is to design and implement solutions that make Riot's environment hostile to attackers and to improve Riot's ability to detect malicious activity by managing tools that produce high quality alerting.

The perfect candidate has the desire to build and maintain the tooling that makes Riot a hard target for would-be attackers. They have a technical background that spans a wide range of technologies including AWS, Windows, MacOS, containers, and programming for automation. They understand attackers tactics, techniques, and procedures and can use this knowledge to implement an effective deception strategy.

Responsibilities:
• Design and implement deception technology tooling that fits into our deception strategy.
• Collaborate with other security and engineering teams to ensure successful deployment and operationalization of deception technologies.
• Deploy tooling that produces high quality alerting in various areas of Riot's global infrastructure.
• Stay up to date on new attacker tactics, techniques, and procedures.

Required Qualifications:
• 3+ years of experience in Information Security Engineering roles
• Understanding of network reconnaissance, lateral movement, privilege escalation, and other attacker tactics.
• Experience with AWS cloud solutions, Windows, MacOS, and containerization.
• Development experience with Python or Go.
• Experience working on large, multi-month projects with other engineers.

Desired Qualifications:
• CEH, OSCP, or similar certifications
• Knowledge of software build processes and associated technologies such as Github, Perforce, and Jenkins
