The Role

The Strategic Advisory (SA) department empowers Rioters to make better decisions by helping them structure problems, and source and use data in the process. We're an interdisciplinary group of analysts, consultants, strategists and researchers from all sorts of backgrounds who join together to represent and advocate for players around the world, as well as Rioters in other parts of the organization who may be customers. As a Researcher II, you will support the Game Operations Ideation team, a dedicated team that focuses on turning ideation to value creation in Centralized Game Operations space. You will emphasize your organizational research and user research skill set -- including surveys, interviews, and focus group studies -- to help develop and formalize the ideation-to-value-creation methodology for discovering Riot's game operations improvement opportunities, your findings and insights will directly contribute to making Riot the best place to make games.

You will report to the Insights Manager on Riot Game Operations.

Responsibilities:
• Work with your team to help establish research needs and produce the appropriate studies to meet those needs
• Develop surveys and focus groups to create authentic, applicable feedback
• Provide strategic insights to test design assumptions and inform a product in development, as well as enhance people's experiences at work
• Use storytelling skills to effectively share your results with leadership and other rioters
• Work with analysts and data scientists to construct holistic, multi-modal analyses
• Analyze and frame data into digestible frameworks and reports, delivering insights that focus on not just the ''what'', but the ''so what'' and the ''now what''

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Statistics, Economics, or a related discipline
• 5 years of applied experience (Masters / PHD degree can count towards 2 years) in organizational research, people insights, user research, behavioral or cognitive research
• Experience with organizational health assessment, using research and data analytics to drive organizational change efforts
• Experience with conducting focus groups, designing surveys, and qualitative and quantitative research methods

Desired Qualifications:
• Masters or PHD degree in I/O psychology
• Strong goal-oriented, system-focused mindset
• Experience with stakeholder management and structured problem solving
• Expertise in qualitative data methods
• Familiarity with using Tableau and SPSS
• Experience using research to influence internal product strategy, operations strategy and implementation
