What you will do

We are looking for a qualified and passionate Data Scientist to join us on the Analytics team. You will lead in-depth analyses into our raw player behavior data, surface actionable insights and opportunities to the organization, and work with the team to transform your findings into processes and systems supporting our fundamental goal of making Rocket League better.

In this role, you will
• Utilize gameplay data to derive player motivation and behavior and deliver actionable insights
• Perform in-depth analyses across a multitude of data sets, types, and sources
• Develop, maintain, and optimize advanced dataflows and automated processes, and assist in their deployment into our infrastructure
• Propose workable initiatives to Analytics, Marketing, and Development teams that positively drive KPIs while protecting our player-first values
• Liaise and collaborate with other team members and departments on initiatives from inception to execution

What we're looking for
• 4+ years of experience with writing and maintaining SQL objects, preferably MySQL
• 4+ years of experience interacting with large and complex data sets
• Advanced understanding and application of various analysis methods
• Demonstrated experience in architecting new data flows along with the reporting, presentation and visualization of resulting data
• Professional experience with object oriented programming
• A passion for diving into data to extract trends, signals, and insights
• Experience simultaneously addressing multiple project and stakeholder needs
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• A veteran Rocket League player that understands community desires and tolerances
• Knowledge of the game industry's inner workings
• Familiarity with Go / C# / R / Python / PHP / Linux
• Working knowledge of Cloud Computing (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and associated infrastructure
• Experience creating and working with ML models
• Experience with Tableau or similar data visualization software
