Summary:

Pluto TV is seeking a Sr. Manager, Metadata to join our Content Operations Team. This position will be responsible for defining and maintaining content metadata standards that are used by Pluto TV teams globally. This will include the establishment of an expansive content metadata roadmap.

This role will support an expanding set of consumer product features that advance content discovery and user personalization through the utilization of content metadata. As Pluto TV's metadata subject matter expert, you will be responsible for developing, defining, and implementing descriptive content metadata standards that can be operationalized reliably at scale. You will also directly support the acquisition, processing, and release of content metadata to support our content launches and serve our users.

The ability to articulate our vision and interact with stakeholders ranging from Product teams to senior leadership to drive results is assumed. A background rooted in media supply chains and descriptive metadata, paired with a strong technical acumen are critical attributes that will drive success in this role.

Responsibilities Include:

This is a critical role with a wide range of responsibilities, including:
• Serve as the organizations Subject Matter Expert as it pertains to content metadata.
• Develop and maintain Pluto TV's metadata enrichment roadmap as we seek to improve our user experiences and support enhanced content discovery features within our consumer product.
• Define and enforce quality standards for the metadata that we receive from content partners and vendors.
• Represent the Pluto TV Content Operations teams globally in defining metadata systems requirements and submitting them to our Content Systems Product team for roadmap realization
• Support the acquisition, review, processing, and publishing of content metadata as a part of content preparation workflow
• Collaborate with our Consumer Product team to gather metadata requirements in support of planned metadata feature enhancements
• Work with our Revenue Product team to ensure that Content Taxonomy and Metadata Development can align and be optimized to deliver ad serving efficiency.
• Author procedural documentation related to the entry and maintenance of metadata within our systems and provide training to Pluto TV global Content Operations teams
• Evaluate third-party vendors for prospective use in metadata sourcing
• Provide regular reporting related to the performance of our metadata providers and the quality of the materials that they provide
• Research and inform the selection of ML based metadata enrichment products to provide additional dimensions to our data set
• Manage issue and bug tracking related to metadata for live assets through to successful resolution
• Facilitate metadata solutions that result in improved quality, stability, and efficiency in Pluto TV's media supply chain

Basic Qualifications:
• 5+ years of industry experience working in content supply chains, streaming media, or content metadata enrichment
• Experience in administrating metadata solutions in support of a streaming service
• Knowledge of common digital asset formats – Video, Audio, Captions, Images & Metadata
• Experience in developing and managing content taxonomies
• Experience in using Atlassian Products, Confluence and JIRA
• Understanding of ML based content analysis and metadata tagging solutions
• Experience in the direct QC of media assets, common standards, and QC toolsets
• Direct experience in authoring procedural guides and training materials
• Experience in managing staff

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $107,000.00 - 125,750.00.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
