Job Description

Pluto TV, a Paramount Global company, is the leading free streaming television service in America, delivering 250+ live and original channels and thousands of on-demand movies in partnership with major TV networks, movie studios, publishers, and digital media companies. Pluto TV is available on all mobile, web and connected TV streaming devices and millions of viewers tune in each month to watch premium news, TV shows, movies, sports, lifestyle, and trending digital series. Headquartered in West Hollywood, Pluto TV has offices in New York, Silicon Valley, Chicago and Berlin.

PlutoTV is looking for a Product Manager who will be working on the core ad flow, such as initiatives around how we make ad requests, how we decide what ads will be shown to users, and how we report on ad funnel metrics. Success comes from defining an ideal state, a plan to achieve it, collaboration with partners, and execution against specific milestones!

This job is responsible for defining and handling the product strategy and roadmap for part of the Pluto Ad Platform. It includes ownership of issue triage and troubleshooting, coordination of configurations for product launches/changes, and involvement in our incident response efforts.

This role will require an understanding of the advertising industry, maturity/influence to work across internal teams, and solid experience defining strategies and driving those plans. Candidates with ad technology, programmatic advertising, and ad decisioning roles are preferred. This role is an individual contributor role and will report to the Senior Director of Product, Ad Delivery & Yield.

Responsibilities
• Cross-Functional Team Relationship: Develop and maintain balanced, productive, working relationships across the core Revenue Product/Program/Engineering teams, as well as Ad Operations, Revenue Partnerships, Sales, Distribution and Monetization teams.
• Product Requirements: Core product management for your product area. This includes product requirement documents that include clear definitions of goals, risks / dependencies / assumptions, overall approach, acceptance criteria, and a solution design (defined by an architect/engineer) that meets the requirements. Lead these products through the software development lifecycle from concept to development to launch and post-launch.
• Product Planning: Define and handle the product goals, strategies, and roadmap plans and ensure their prioritization on the all-up Revenue Product Roadmap. This is inclusive of defining and leading their success metrics.
• Operational QA/Troubleshooting: Triage ad tech issues efficiently, drive resolution with the appropriate resources including independent QA/troubleshooting, critical issues, and help communicate status/results to partners.
• Ad Delivery & Yield Subject Matter Expert (SME): Become the subject matter expert on the entire Ad Delivery & Yield workflow, including the step-by-step functions that occur, the logic applied, the role/impact of non-technology operations, how internal/external systems are used, and the related system and business KPI's.
• Team Efficiency: Become a strong, giving member of the Revenue Product Management team through product ideation discussions, alignment to the operational cadence, helping others succeed, living our cultural values, and improvements to how we operate.
• Business Knowledge: Develop a solid understanding of how the business operates and how it is performing both currently and historically.
• Industry Subject Matter Expert (SME): Be a guide on the industry standards and activities that impact the Ad Delivery area for Pluto, including a deep understanding of IAB standards (VAST, OpenRTB, VMAP, etc).

Qualities / Experience We're Seeking

We believe the right individual will have the following skills and experience in order to be successful in this role:
• 2+ years of commercial product management experience, particularly with demonstrated accomplishments in the management of a product (or portfolio of products) through the software development lifecycle, from conception to launch to ongoing performance measurement and optimization.
• 2+ years with digital advertising, preferably in TV or streaming video.
• Adept at tailoring communications depending on the circumstance, whether the audience is technical, non-technical, or executive.
• Intellectual curiosity and passion for identifying key problems that are faced by the business, by the market and by current technologies.
• Track record of results when working collaboratively and being dependent on others.
• Analyzing data to identify trends, to diagnose problems, and to find solutions.
