As Manager of UX Design for the PlayStation Data Platform, you play a key role in shaping the future of the world's largest game platform. Located in either Los Angeles or the SF Bay Area, you will partner with a cross-functional team of product managers, researchers, writers, engineers, and business partners to ideate and craft experiences that both delight our users and define the next generation of partner experiences.

As part of the larger SONY design community, you will be part of a global design group that respects and celebrates the value of design, design thinking, and design process. Collaborate with designers both locally and globally to elevate the standard of design across the organisation.

Duties & Responsibilities
• Continuously champion design excellence within the team and organization
• Provide accountability for the UX design quality across the Data Platform experiences
• Hire and develop a team of UX Designers and provide a positive growth-minded environment
• Support growth of the design team through continuous feedback and mentorship
• Develop design team processes and cross-functional collaboration operational models
• Create and implement design strategies based on brand guidelines, business goals, and user needs
• Communicate and build consensus on a strategy across design and cross-functional teams
• Partner with UX research, content, product management and engineering to ensure alignment throughout the process
• Engage in planning and prioritization discussions to ensure appropriate resourcing
• Consult with external partners to ensure the PlayStation brand and UX standards are upheld

Qualifications
• Portfolio demonstrating 6+ years of interaction design, user experience, and visual design work
• Prior leadership and/or management experience with the ability to set a design vision for the team and across business units
• Experience designing for enterprise software applications or web-based tooling experiences
• Proven experience in developing designers and helping set a higher standard across design organizations
• Ability to create simple solutions out of highly sophisticated and integrated systems
• Knowledge working within the agile software development processes

Bonus Points!
• Deep experience working within a technical environment that includes both hardware and software
• Strong knowledge and/or interest in emerging technologies in web, mobile, and gaming console
• Experience designing for a global audience in multiple languages
• Deep passion or knowledge of video gaming industry
• Some background in software engineering, front-end development or web technologies
