Software Engineer In Test (Contract)

If so, we are looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test to validate the video components of the PlayStation system software and be responsible for testing future releases. Responsibilities
• Plan, document, orchestrate and automate test cases for applications running on PlayStation development hardware.
• Read specifications documents and develop test scenarios.
• Complete manual testing for software releases on an agile schedule.
• Measure the performance of PlayStation applications and prepare reports that analyze datasets over time.
• Identify root causes for bugs, estimate the risk of the problem and communicate to collaborators.
• Write issue tickets with clear instructions and reproduction steps for developers to quickly turnaround fixes.
• Work with systems like Jenkins and Buildbot to monitor and modify continuous build and tests.
• Write automated test scripts and tools to enhance the efficiency of the team.

Required Qualifications
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to proactively collaborate with others.
• Proficient with Python programming.
• Comfortable using command line interface(s): PowerShell, Batch Shell, or BASH
• Demonstrates a curiosity about learning new technologies, solutions, and testing techniques.

Preferred Qualifications
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or ability to demonstrate equivalent knowledge.
• Professional experience testing in the video games industry.
• Knowledge of video encoding and decoding and video coding standards.
• Familiarity working with Jenkins, JIRA, Excel, Git, SVN, Perforce.
• Ability to read and/or write C++.
