We are looking for a hardworking, and creative Senior Tools Programmer (Lighting) for our next chapter of cinematic storytelling. Become a part of the Visual Arts group, and work with a multi-award-winning team responsible for the cinematic performances in outstanding Sony PlayStation franchises like Uncharted, The Last of Us, Killzone, and other iconic series.

Responsibilities:
• Contribute to the maintenance and development of lighting tools and processes within a proprietary pipeline to help achieve a product's visual style and encourage artistic technical evolution within the studio.
• Troubleshoot and fix issues within the lighting pipeline and implement root cause solutions.
• Supervise and oversee lighting tool functionality and interactivity with Perforce and proprietary asset tracking with the goal of increasing efficiency and uptime for our lighting artists.
• Work to integrate with adjacent disciplines (modeling, materials, fx, dynamics) to ensure consistent and cohesive response.
• Integrate with client's technical and programming staff in a collaborative manor.
• Keep aware of industry trends, technical techniques and evaluate competitive products to determine areas we can improve or innovate.
• Serve as a technical resource for all phases of production and other studio art needs. This includes, but is not limited to conducting general research, developing cutting-edge tools and techniques, and testing new systems or tools.
• Provide training, document processes, transmit industry related information, identify areas of concern in a constructive method and provide input on the best technical methods to achieve the artistic goal and vision.

Qualifications:
• 7+ years of experience working within a sophisticated production environment.
• Proven track record of developing tools within a propriety pipeline.
• Thorough knowledge of BRDF PBR workflows, baked and real-time lighting solutions, as well as forward, deferred and forward+ rendering methods.
• Ability to understand complex technical issues and communicate them to your peers.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously.
• Experience with a variety of programming and scripting languages including python and C++, as well as shading languages (HLSL, GLSL or others).
• Experience with Unreal.
• Knowledge of compositing and color tools.

Pluses:
• Unreal 5 engine experience.
• Experience with C#

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

This is a flexible role that can be remote, with varying pay ranges based on geographic location. For example, if you are based out of Seattle, the estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.

$97,400 - $146,000 USD
